Bracelet popularity dates back to Roman times and continues today.
Roman bracelets shared many of the design patterns of necklaces and earrings at the time. The ball earrings very popular at that time were well fit with a ball style bracelet.
Bracelets and bangles carved snakes were very popular during the Roman era. Bracelets of twisted coil with lion head ends were common, because both were part of a pair of bracelets that ends with a lion’s head.

During periods Gerogiian bracelets remained popular. Paris jewelers were known for their gold bracelets set with pearls on. After the 1820 coral has become “in” fashion statement, so bracelets and other jewelry were heavily set in coral.
